A Playlist for International Women’s Day: Volume 2

Because music is such a powerful medium of expression and is something I absolutely make a part of my every day, I had to offer a second playlist for International Women’s Day.

This year, I traveled back to my high school and college years. Lilith Fair was at its peak, and I loved that a woman’s voice could be heard on the Top 40. It was empowering for me as a young woman. Up to that point, my record collection had mostly men in it. This was a gamechanger for me.

Here’s my list for this year’s celebration, not listed in any particular order. All Hail 90’s Women in Music!

  1. Just a Girl by No Doubt
  2. Down So Long by Jewel
  3. Say My Name by Destiny’s Child
  4. Goodbye Earl by Dixie Chicks
  5. Man! I Feel Like a Woman by Shania Twain
  6. None of Your Business by Salt n Pepa
  7. Bad Reputation by Joan Jett
